whenever my baby girl is feeling tired and sleepy, she would rub her eyes till it's all red and watery. why is that so?

Her eyes are itchy, then she rubs them and makes them red. Then you know for sure she's tired.

erm.. my experience is that baby's eyes when they are sleepy is usually red and watery when they are sleepy.. it may not necessarily be due to rubbing.
I am not quite sure why but I suspect it has something to do with the fact that when our eyes are tired, they may release some chemicals and cause the eyes to turn red and the eyes to water.
If your baby is very young, just be watchful and let her sleep as much as she wants and help her fall alseep by keeping environment quiet when she is tired. ;)

It's a sign to let you know that your baby is ready to sleep. Everyone is different. My cousins cry when they're tired. I would rather have my baby rub his eyes than cry.

My baby also rub his eyes...it become slightly red also. Not sure should I do anything about it or just let it be...

Mine does that too!! Maybe because there eyes are tired and they don't know what else to do!

Well, I know when I am tired my eyes will sometimes burn and feel itchy.
