In the US, Massachussettes is the only state to allow same-sex marriage.
But gays can get married in any state. It just takes a gay man and a lesbian woman. Because the laws only discrimate based on gender. Sexual orientation has nothing to do with it.

or you get a domestic partnership in california, vermont, and several other states.
