~I am confused. Do people change color or race at age 60 or something? By the way, of what race are you (I presume black, yellow or red as Pete was white)? Do you think it was not good for Pete to have been racing at a younger age? If not, that would maybe make you ageist.

I don't think you're a racist - at least not from this question. I think you're ignorant and confused with your terminology, but there is no evidence of racism here.

Ah, I've got it now. You think you know something of Peter Brock and you are a motorsport aficionado - that is - a racist.

age 70 or 75 I think is a good time to hang that stuff up!

but stop to think can he sit at home and do nothing he raced all his life he can not do anything else with style! The race car he drives has a roll cage it it that can stand 10 to 20 times any crash and servive and it is designed to keep him safe! plus all the cars are going around the same speed in the same direction which is not to dangerious just think if they were comming at you at that speed and your doing the same going towards them and trying to miss them.

but yea he is safe let him have his fun if he takes out 4 or 5 cars heck that is what racing is about

No sixty one is not to old to race,...However To me it looks like he made a mistake an error of judgment if you like and paid the price , much like Steve Irwinn , as a professional he would have known to keep away from the tail of the stingray (or should have ) in the event he didn't ....both a great loss in there field .

I don't know anything about the story at all, except for what you posted, but that is very old for someone to be racing professionally unless it was just a special race for some publicity.

I don't know who Peter Brock is, but senior citizens will surprise you!

I run at the beach on Sundays. I have a good, comfortable pace and I do 3 miles. Every Sunday, this Dude who is older than God speeds by me and says "Is that as fast as you can go, little girl? HAW HAW HAW!"

Cracks me up every time.

I say all that to say, if they can do it at their age, let them do it!
