Because it's a very big change in everyone's life. Now there are only 8 planets. But Pluto will always be a planet to me.

I'm slightly upset that Pluto's no longer considered a planet... I mean, the scientists are calling Pluto a "dwarf planet", but why can't they be flexible and continue to include Pluto in the solar system? Besides, it would be easier on a bunch of reference books, websites, etc. People will have to go and edit it, or throw out a perfectly good reference book. It's not reasonable that Pluto can't be classified as a "dwarf" planet but still be in the solar system.

I'm not upset. There are now 3 categories of objects in our solar system.

* Planets: The eight worlds from Mercury to Neptune.
* Dwarf Planets: Pluto and any other round object that "has not cleared the neighborhood around its orbit, and is not a satellite."
* Small Solar System Bodies: All other objects orbiting the Sun.
