For this age, try "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" party.
Since they are fairly easy to draw, make your own invitations with this theme. Make cut-outs of the characters from poster board. Buy enough pumpkins to make a pumpkin patch and place the cut-outs in the patch.

For games, have a relay race with peanuts, a costume parade, musical chairs with Halloween songs.

By this time, they're hungry, so set out trays that you have made up inn advance of sandwich fillings to look like a witch or goblin. Tell them it's time to make their own spookwich! I've done it with tuna, olives, carrots, shredded lettuce, etc. Just give them the bread and some Halloween-shaped cookie cutters. Grab your camera to capture their creations! Serve apples, juice and cup cakes or cookies.

As a finale, let them go into the pumpkin patch and pick one to take home as a party favor.

I agree, two hours is plenty of time. Just keep everything simple, and they will love it. :>)

Suggest you suggest your guests come 'as they are' with the proviso that when they arrive at the party they will get the chance to make each other up. And set up a make up station plus a rack of assorted clothing items, raid Savers or Goodwil - - - have your daughter & friends create their halloween outfits on the spot. There are great books on how to do fun & spooky make-up, perhaps you will want to enlist a savy ten or twelve year old to 'supervise,' but I have known a lot of clever six year olds.

How big is your place? Many kids miss the old fashion door to door trick or treating - - - if you can enlist a few adults in costume scatter them around yard & house, their space/place is a food station - - - example a wicked witch with a cauldron dispences drinks, a mad scientist in his lab produces edible stuff, but do avoid the Mummy at the BarbCue, that is always a recipe for disaster.

Reinterating - - - the make-up & dress up is fun for kids especially girls - - - provide several mirrors & after the kids are done getting made up & dressed have a Ghoulish Fashion Show.

Allow for ninety minutes to two hours unless you and the kids have the stamina for three.

Have A Spooktacular Halloween.

Make your living room a Zombie Room... get people to dress up as zombies. Make the living room completle dark and use flashing strobelights. Get the zombies to move in the room with the strobelights and be totally scared...also for a little more scaryness... get some dry ice and put it in a witch cauldron to make it look like that a spell is brewing because dry ice gives off this smoke

i would choose a public place like rec center, church, gymnasium, as a place to hold this and then set up using food grade dry ice in apple cider for witches brew they can drink make dirt and worms pudding using: chocolate pudding crunched oreos gummy worms, set up a haunted witch hunt in a cemetery (headstones of cardboard) in the yard grassy area have living dead using names on headstones for clues be creative using only like 10 items and have teams of 6or 7 start like 5:00pm for snacks and games have music going the whole time end like 8:30 happy haunting

Play a lot of party games. Make them laugh, not scared. OK? Prepare candies and chocolates. And also cake and cookies, sure!
