in anime, I mean. Like I was watching School Rumble and they have this OVA and it's almost like a mini season in between the normal seasons. What does it mean and what exactly is it? Thanks

It stands for Original Video Animation- usually it refers to the actual episodes which aired on TV (probably in Japan)

OAV or OVA stands for Original Animation Video/Original Video Animation. Usually OVAs are much more better drawn, extravagant, and more improved than a show. This is because the budget for such videos are larger, which allows artists to improve upon certain aspects of the show. Often times, the OVA will not correspond with the anime. It will have its own substory.

It stands for Original Animated Videos or something close to that, i really dont care, its usually what was in the manga that was left out of the anime or its a side story or its teh epiloque.

It means 'original video animated'. I guess is mean that the story is from the manga just change to anime.
