What Place is more Famous to americans. Stratford-upon-avon or Birmingham uk

For Stratford I think of Shakespeare. For Birmingham nothing comes to mind - except Birmingham Alabama (USA).

Seriously, Americans probably wouldn't even be able to tell you that London is in England. We are very Amero-centric. Most would say Birmingham is in Alabama,USA.
I'd have to say Birmingham is more well known. The only Stratford I know is the one with -on-the-Avon tacked on to it. Is that the same? Sorry!

Stratford-upon-Avon is more well known in America, because it's the birthplace of William Shakespeare.
