steve was an icon in australia. man who changed everyone's perception about crocs. what a loss. well i had the pleasure to meet him at sydney zoo. had a gr8 sense of humour and was a gem of a person.
feel sad for his kids and his wife. there are many good for nothing people around but they live and this guy who has done so much for nature and us.......
may god bless his soul.

His daring ways had nothing to do with it. Only 7 stingray deaths are on record. This was a very freakish accident. It was more likely he could've been hit by a bus. Regardless, it's sad that such a great character and wildlife advocate is gone.

i wont say i loved him but he did have a good show. now he was dumb at somethings... who would name there child after a crocodile and a dog? and who would risk there infats sons life by holding the baby while feeding a crocodile.. only him he was not very smart

I think his kids loved him....and now he is just a memory. Steve made many positive contributions to the world, but it will be his children that will suffer the greatest form this loss...

I did, and still do. My children and I met him in the States and got his autographed. We'll cherish that and meeting him for the rest of our lives. He was a very caring and daring man. We will miss him.

I LOVED him I watched the show and its sooo sad he died from a stingray. Look at yahoo news and the stingrays sting put a hole in his heart how sad

I was shock when I heard that he died, but I'm surprise at how the world has reacted to this. I didn't think Steve Irwin was that popular.

Well I think he is a tragic loss, as gross as reptiles seemed he always made them look nice. Many including me shall miss him. May his soul rest in peace. Amen !

i didnt love him but i knew that a lot of people did and i was really sad by his death it was too soon and i feel so terrible for his family. he was a pretty cool guy

He seemed to be very passionate about what he did. I respected him for it as he was entertaining in many ways. He also died doing what he loved to do.
