Not as badly as you think. Being Canadian, I was afraid when I went to South America at the same time George W. Bush decided to invade Iraq, people would think I was American and I might get beat up or something. Of course a lot of people did think I was American, but I didn't have any problems at all. A lot of people in foreign countries have a problem with America's foreign policies, but they see the politics as separate from the people.

Most people think Americans are a bunch of arrogant idiots. That is true of most countries, except South Africa. They are just a bunch of murderous, thieving, rapists.

We see America as being aggressive, foolish, unfair, and slowly coming apart at the seams. We see Bush as trying to play God, we see the confusion in the government about who is doing what to whom and we see endless lines of people demanding that they be compensated for real or imagined problems, failing education and a country that is selling itself to Japan and other foreign interests, and outsourcing even the smallest items because of the run-away labor costs.
