Welcome to the world of preinstalled trial software! Save your documents as rtf files so you can recover them. Then download open office if you want free word processing.

WordPerfect is made by Corel. And no, it will expire after the trial, and yes unless you obtain a Free Version of Open Office, it can read Wordperfect and MS Word Docs, Wordperfect will costs alot to buy it, but the Open Office Download is around 100 Mbs. or so, it's a big download, BUT IT'S FREE.

First, it is probably Microsoft Word, not wordperfect, which is by corel.

Second, it's an expensive program, which is why you get a trial. Microsoft Works often comes free, for what it is worth ... its a wannabe.

Third, try openoffice, which IS free ... you should be able to open and edit your resume's and other documents on it with no problem.

I have only see Wordperfect at Law Office recently. I would just uninstall it. While you should go and buy Microsoft Office to get Word, you can also buy Microsoft Word Suite to get it. There are several versions of Microsoft Office, including a Student/Teacher edition.

But YES, you can also get Open Office for free from http://www.openoffice.org

Good luck

You don't need microsoft word, or wordperfect (whoever is selling it these days)

You want openoffice! It's free!

Why not try OpenOffice? It's a freeware office suite from openoffice.org, and is compatible with a wide variety of document formats. I use it in addition to Word & Excel 2000, and it works just fine.
