Establishing shot- normally at the beginning and establishes the scene

Extreme long shot- the focus object is far away, giving a landscape view of the area surrounding it

Long shot- a tighter view of the extreme long shot

Medium shot- normally covers the torso and head of a person

Close up- normally from the neck up of a person

Extreme close up- normally just the face of a person

Shot reverse shot- often used during a conversation; a shot of one person speaking, then a shot of the other person speaking, etc.; can include reaction shots within the scene

Reaction shot- a shot of a person's reaction due to conversation, an event, environment, etc.

Panning- moving the camera from side to side (horizontal)

Tilting- moving the camera up and down (vertical)

Master shot- often the first shot taken for a scene; like an establishing shot, it helps set the mood for the scene and may even be resed throughout the scene or movie

Point of view shot- shot from a particular person's point of view

Bird eye view- shot from above

Also, remember the 180 degree rule: when you have object/person A on the left, the should stay to the left of the screen until you establish another shot that proves differently
