if you are still here: take 2 parts of money. 1 part in Euro and 1 in Ponds. You can exchange them at airport but rate will be not on your side. Rate for pounds there is higher. Any way, you will have somebody there who will help you with exchange. Don't rush, shop around and be careful where you do that and who is behind you. just in case

You can't buy Russian Roubles anywhere outside Russia. The best thing is to take Euro with you, which can then be easily exchanged for Russian Roubles once you arrive at Moscow airport. Alternative is to have a debit card to get cash out from Russia.

The only place you can get Roubles is Russia. You will have to change them back to £s before you leave as well. The sites below recommend taking Euros or US Dollars.

You can order Russian Roubles on American Express` Website www.fxforu.com and pick it up from their airport office before you fly give them a call to check the restrictions as these change quite often.

Don't worry about it, there are tons of places in Moscow where you can exchange English pounds into Roubles. We are still 50 years behind, but we do exchange money :-)

Have fun in Moscow!

If you want to visit areas like Kremlin, Red Square and St Basil's Cathedral than you will need to go to Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation and among the country's most popular places for foreign readers and you can be one of them if you appear with hotelbye . In Moscow you may also see the world famous cinema, the Bolshoi Theatre, the gem in the top of Moscow's wealthy cultural life. Moscow has ton to provide and let me make it clear you will enjoy a holyday here.

The EU does not deal with rubles, I had the same problem when going to Russia. So I took euros with me (but I beleive they accept pounds as well, at least USD they did). You can exchange them at the airport or else in any Bank there. There are some banks that do noit charge commission so make sure you ask first.
Good luck! I'm sure you'll love Russia!

I went to Saint Petersburg, and there were plenty of places all over the city to exchange currency. If you use an ATM, there's a substantial fee. I'm not sure if I would do it at the airport either. Look for a real bank.
