i need to know the difference for math

is the property associative or commutative?

associative:
x+y=y+x
commutative:
z(x+y)=(z+x)+y

Associative property is when you can switch numbers in and out of parenthesis.EX:
(3+5)+8=3(5+8)
Commutative prpperty allows you to move the numbers around.EX:
7+2=2+7
