Okay, my dad thinks it's a bad idea for me as a 13 year old to have a webcam because he is afraid that my picture will show up all over the web...... is he right??

Webcams aren't dangerous in themselves but what can be done with them is.
As much as it hurts me to say it, your dad is absolutely correct and cares enough for you to say no.
Don't bother with a webcam, typing is much more fun and you'll get bored of it eventually!

first it relies upon on the webcam and on the chatroom. Chatrooms that are properly monitored, and don't inspire undesirable habit on the cam is nice yet an outstanding variety of the time you don't be attentive to who's actual finding at you or vice versa. there are a number of cases whilst little ones get lured right into a faux sense of risk-free practices. i think the main suitable answer is to assume the extra severe and in case you will chat and use a webcam is to do it one on one and wait till you have chatted with that individual.

It depends on who your going to use it with? It your just using it to IM your friends then that's OK and make sure when you use the web cam your on a secure site cuz with all the sex predors out there you have to protect yourself!!! I wouldn't use it in an open chat room cuz you never know who your talkin to!!! and the answer to your question will your picture be all over the Internet...the answer is no cuz once you sign off or disconnect the web cam then your pictured gone until your turn it on again and use it, its just like a camera just you don't record!! But use percaution!!!

Yes, if you talk to people using your webcam they can easily record the whole thing. But if you're just showing your face... what's the big deal? It's just as dangeous to post on a photo-blog.

Possibly, if you use a webcam be certain to set it up to allow only people you know to access it.

even some one can rape you, if they have long *****
make sure close your windows and doors even small hole...before turning the webcam on
so the dick cant come in,,,, not even a mouse hole ,,,
,,,,,even some can take your picture then do some computer magic and make u naked then they can post them any where even prints and bla bla ,,,, so i hope u understand lol hahahahahaha

Depends what you use it for. If you use it with people you know not really. But if you use it with you dont know, that is a bad idea. I would never use one. I would be to scared that someone would be able to see it.
