I recommend the XBox but only because I have one and LOVE it! The XBox is such a great system that I dont think it will lose its popularity anytime soon. Plus they already have so many games on the shelves that you could have the thing for 5 years from now and still not have played half of them.

Or, you could sell your gamecube and games to a used video game store and put that money down on a 360 or a PS3. I suggest EB (Electronics Boutique) or Game Stop because they'll let you make payments on systems, and you choose when and how much you pay. The only catch is, they don't let you have your system till you've paid it off.

based on what you tell me, you should get the Xbox360 premium edition! the xbox features several sports game and the premium edition is only 400$(U.S.) however the PS3 for the lousy/cheap version costs 400$!!! the premium 600$! and i heard my friend say to this one guy that the games can be somewere in the price range of 70-100bucks! sure xbox360 games are 10bucks higher then current gen games (like GC or old xbox) but only get a PS3 if you are at least in the lower upper class region of society, everyone bellow should shoot for the 360, and if you like action and adventure might i recommend the well known game The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion! named game of the year by G4ia and got a 5-5 on almost every review! (be sure to buy a warrenty on your 360, many consoles encounter some errors on them exe. wireless reciever not working, game freezes too often but its a great console) in terms of sports? hm... well theres a new madden game out for it! and theres some good bascit ball games out for it! but if you like wrestling and are a guy you should try Rumble Roses Double X. (rated M for sexual themes) another great thing about the 360 (besides the online gameplay and games) is the ability to download extra content for your games! however you need points to do this, you obtain points through gift cards, different things require more or less points so choose wisly gamer! anyway these are the primative reasons to get a 360, if you want a more thourogh look go to the website. (you can also play your old xbox games on it too! be sure to be connected to xbox live to recieve the latest updates, or at least have an internet connection to put the update on a blank cd, or you can order a disc from them with the latest update but that costs money and they wont be available till December.)

the wii is trying a nun-chucks still and the thing that if you playing a shooting game you aim with the controller and fire and its the cheapest station ranging $300 or $400 in America

the ps3 is going to be the most expensive but it should have the best play with the most uses $500 or $600

the xbox 360 is extremely cool and a genre good system price range $400 or $500

its probably pointless getting an xbox coz thv already started reducing accecories and games for it. the PS3 doesnt look 2 promising coz its had a few problems and i think youll be waiting a while for it 2 come out. so i would say either an Xbox360 or a PS2 but tht might not last very long. but u neva no. so xbox360 then
