Those packs of bug bombs will work great on spiders but you have to wipe out not only the adults but the eggs they lay. That means that you have to figure out what the adult/egg cycle is and use the bug bombs during that period, so that you kill any baby spiders before they reproduce.
Check on the species and the cycle over internet or with your local nursery or abatement guys. Bomb away until they don't come back regularly then bombe every so often after that.
You just set the bomb off as you go off to work and stay out for 4-6 hours I think it is. Then clear the house by opening the doors for a few minutes and your good to go.
Be sure to stand by the door (and don't let any spiders back in) as you air out the house as the spiders may have just run outside and be waiting to to dart back in the minute the house has been cleared of toxins.
I have had good luck whispering/speaking to all kinds of animals that they better leave or I'll have to kill them. I know it sounds funny but it kinda works. Try it. You can be the first "spider whisperer" in your neighborhood. tell em it either gonna be you or me that lives in this house but not both of us together. Tell em' to go outside and that you'll leave em' alone out there. They need a place to be too of course.
Good luck!

Basements are a natural habitat for the arachnids, and their targets, the insects. If you can stand the spiders, the insect problem will wind down to nothing. So it might come down to choosing between spiders and bugs. To eliminate the spiders, you need to find the elusive mama, who will be bigger and badder than her offspring. Get rid of any sources of moisture, and keep breaking every web you can find. Kill the babies on sight, and see if you can track down the nest sack and destroy it. The season will end in late Fall. If Mom and the main nest are gone, the little buggers might not return in the spring hatching. For the insects, you will have to find out where they come in and stop them at the entry point with insect traps attuned to the specific bug. Don't spray, but there are odorless powders that might help. If Praying Mantidae do not bother you, consider getting one as an exterminator. B.

There are bug bombs that are made for use inside the home. They usually come in 3-packs. I have seen them by Shultz and Bonide. You close up the room they are in and set off the bomb and go away for 3 hours. It sprays a mist and while you are gone it kills the spiders and lots of other listed insects. After 3 hours you come back, open the windows and air out the room and you're all set. Make sure you read the instructions, especially if one of the rooms is the kitchen.

Spray the doors and windows and the inside of your house with a mixture of 1 part pure peppermint extract, and 3 parts water in a cheap spray bottle. Believe me, spiders, ants, roaches hate it, and will leave your house smelling like peppermint, not insecticides. The only money you'll spend is on the extract, and you just might have some in your house now! It really works.

Unless a direct hit with insectacide, spiders are pretty much immune from bug spray..The best way to get rid of the things is to smash them....good luck

There's a fruit called "mock orange" that is supposed to get rid of spiders. I guess you just put it in the corner of the room and the more it rots the more it drives the spiders away. Never tried it so I don't know if it gets stinky or not but I've heard it works. Those pesticides are toxic and you really want to limit their use.

Invest in a box of tissue. Then, as you see a spider (or other insect), squish it -either with the box or a couple of tissues.
This will save your friend's lungs.
Now, if you have spiders the size of tarantulas, this won't work - you might need a large boot or perhaps a first year university calculus textbook.
Good luck!

I spray the doors and windows with bug spray frequently. It really helps. And I pray too, because God knows I don't like insects of any kind.

Make sure that you use sprays that keep on killing and not just on contact. For other bugs sometimes you have to use the traps that kill a colony. Like ants.
