I think that it has to do with propagating supply and demand. If a product has a shortened lifespan, then it is necessary to replace it far sooner than normal. This aids in keeping the demand for a product high. When it comes down to it, most CEOs are more interested in the financial health of their companies rather than the environmental health of their world. Supply and demand....

Because they want you to have to buy another one (or pay to have the one you own fixed). That way, they get more money than if they manufactured a product that would last a lifetime.
Pff at the person who made the remark about goods made in China. Things everywhere fall apart or malfunction within a couple of years, whether they're American-made or not.

At one time almost every thing was hand made. Craftsman (people making these items) took great pride in their work, therefore making the best quality product they could produce. In today's mas market world, most every thing is mass produced and cheaply made. You get what you pay for. Check out a genuine antique piece of furniture and you will see just what I am talking about. Good, quality furniture is made of real wood. Most of today's furniture is made of fiberboard. It is heavy but does not hold up an if it gets wet it crumbles in time.

each little thing is falling aside, regrettably, and that's the certainty of what you're dealing with precise now. What do you do? you assert, ok, each little thing is falling aside. Admit that to your self and stop attempting to run faraway from it. Grieve, it rather is okay to grieve your losses. Cry, scream, throw stuff, yet get it out of your gadget, ideally no longer on people. I pray while i've got faith that way. I furnish all of it as much as God and comprehend that no longer each little thing is often in my administration, somebody else is guidance the wheel in some circumstances. enable it circulate. take care of what you could. you may lose the abode, and so on... yet peace of suggestions and peace on your heart is efficient. they're purely issues, they might get replaced. locate peace with some thing on your life, whether it rather is basically being in nature and calm your spirit down. you have got the flexibility you like in case you ask for it. comprehend which you're more suitable than you think of and whether you lose all of it, you nevertheless have you ever and you're efficient and not replacable. there's a easy on the top of this long tunnel, I promise. Have some faith. :)

THIS happens to make you keep buying so people have to work to produce the things you need and thanks to these they have a job so they have money to buy things that fall apart and buy them because they have a job and earns money and so on ... I hope you understood je je ... IT seems so simple but I think this is not progress because a lot of people buy silly things and they coul d pent their money and time improving their knowledge and culture and then realizing that the effort of all of us could be used in improving the way of life but really improving it not making us depend on the crap produced but in transcendental matters.

Fueling the economy..? Teaching our children to be consumers?
I do know what you mean. I am always amazed at how quickly things wear out and the fact that it is far less expensive to replace than repair it.
Which gives us...love of convenience? ; )
