well each team has to play a certian number of confrence games so those are locked in every year they rotate home and away. the other 3 or four games are scheduled by the schools athletic directors or head Football coach alot of teams for non confrence only schedule it for one seaso however some schools play every year for an example last season Texas And Ohio State played each other in columbus and have the return meeting tonight in Austin.

Not very well. It seems more and more teams play 2 or 3 major teams and the rest are well we are coming to get our butts whipped.
It's all about money.
