I know for a fact that they dont keep spiders out! I'm scared of spiders too, and used to keep organized with rubbermaids, but they can get in through the lid since its not air tight. I've been scared to death a few times after lifting off the lid of a rubbermaid that hadn't been gone through in a while. I'd suggest vacuum storage bags for bedding and clothes, and Ziplock Big Bags for the other stuff.

Didn't your Daddy tell you that plastic tubs will not keep spiders out, as a matter of fact many spiders love to use plastic tubs for their homes. Hope that answered your question.

Zip Lock baggies now have a big size of zip locks. The kind that are big enough to store balls, toys, whatever else you want to put in them. I forget the name, but I've seen them at walmart where the ziplocks are.

The ziplocks should keep out the spiders. Push out all the air left over in the bag before sealing then merely put them in the plastic containers. It should then be fairly double sealed.

Usually plastic containers will hold out spiders, but not always. Not if the seal isn't tight. That's where the ziplock comes in to play.

If you get plastic tubs that are air tight they might work. It depends on how big the spiders are. I, too, have a real problem with spiders. Moth balls have worked really well for me.

I used to have Wolf and Brown Recluse spiders in my attic. Apparently they are attracted to cardboard boxes b/c the exterminators found nest after nest in most of the cardboard boxes.

We had the house bombed and put everyting in the rubbermaid tubs. We have yet to catch another spider in the attic.

That was 10years ago...

spiders can't open tubs, nor can they open things with a lid.

Tubs will kwwp them out, and help keep stuff organised. just use clear tubs so you can see what stuff you have put in there.
