(p/1-1/7) (p/1+1/7)
Since its difference of two squares, you only need to multiply first and last. so its p/1 which is p times p = p squared. -1/7 times 1/7 is 1/49
answer is p squared subtract 1/49

I'm assuming you mean p/(1-1/7)(p/(1+1/7)) because
p/1 is unnecessary. Well 1-1/7 is 6/7and 1+1/7 is 8/7
so it's
(p/(6/7))(p/(8/7))=
(7p/6)(7p/8)=
49p^2/48
But just in case you really do mean what you have written
then (p/1-1/7) (p/1+1/7)=
(p-1/7) (p+1/7)=
p^2 + p/7 - p/7 - 1/49=
p^2 - 1/49

(p/1-1/7) (p/1+1/7)
FOIL
(p/1 x p/1) + (1/7 x p/1) - (1/7 x p/1) - (1/7 x 1/7)
reduce
(p x p) + (p/7) - (p/7) - (1/49)
(p^2) - (1/49),,,,,ans
or you could use the difference squares formula....

you have to use the method FOIL (first, outside, inside, last)
(p/1-1/7)(p/1+1/7)
(p-1/7)(p+1/7)
p2-1/7p+1/7p+ 1/49
p2+1/49 <----- answer

I assume p is the variable?
p/1 is p
(p-1/7)(p+1/7)
(p2+1/7p -1/7p-1/14)
p2-1/14
^(p squared)
