Have you read The Diary of Ann Frank? I read it at 13 and it changed my life.

It's hard to suggest something without knowing your interests. I loved the Hardy Boys books at that age. I also loved Little Women. My 13 yr old recommends March of Glory by Carla Joinson (www.carlajoinson.com) if you like historicals and Rick Riordan's Percy books if you like mythology.

I rec 'Very Far Away from Any Place Else' by Ursula K. LeGuin. It's short, but it will stay with you for the rest of your life. I've had my copy for over 25 years (I'm 43).

Read something by tamara pierce. She is an amazing writer.
