I had the same problem and it was diagnosed as thrush, a harmless fungal infection, which may be recurring, but bothersome nevertherless. The itching is the worst thing. I had this on and off for years (from the age of 28 until 43), until finally I had a hysterectomy (not related to the thrush), but I have never had it again. It does involve taking 3 day courses of fungal infection vaginal suppositories (sometimes you can get away with the 1 day course) depending on which medication you have. You can get some of these over the counter at your pharmacy.
You really need to get it checked out though, the sooner the better, just to be sure that is really is thrush, as it may be a urine infection, or something else.

Sounds like a yeast infection. Hate those, they are the absolute worst! You should see your OB/GYN to make sure though. If you do not have insurance or cannot afford to go to Dr. as is some people's case, you can buy an over the counter product Called Monistat that will get rid of the yeast infection. The best one I have used yet(as there are diff ones), is the 1day (1dose ovule day/night).I wish you luck!

Does sound like a yeast infection or an STD. I would make an GYN appointment immediately and get some monistat itch creme in the meanwhile. Make sure you clean down there well before you put the creme on.
