Would yo like to borrow my soap-box? I think you just wore yours out.
There are no more reports in the media becasue it's old news. Afghanistan has been the big story for years, and people are bored of it. And the majority of Americans could give two flicks about justice, celebrity babies are more interesting.

the government seem in thrall to our enemies and the undeniable fact that lots of our troops who've been killed might have survived had they been good equipped isn't some thing they care approximately. the undeniable fact that they are nevertheless going to close Haslar provides insult to injury, actually. The broadsheets look unwilling to criticise the government too lots and at an identical time as papers such with the aid of fact the sunlight bang on approximately 'our boys' they nevertheless help the government. thus far as i will make out the only papers who strengthen the difficulty are the Mail and the particular and, inspite of what's declared approximately those papers, in some circumstances justifiably, i think of their help is actual. My son is a Royal Marine who's doing his 2nd excursion in Afghanistan, took section interior the invasion of Iraq and likewise did 6 months in Kosovo. For me the difficulty by no skill ends with the aid of fact i comprehend that, upon his secure return (god keen) he will ought to circulate accessible lower back. in line with danger its time for the Political class to 'share our soreness' and deliver their very own sons into threat. issues could replace then, this is for specific!

Finally someone with a head on his shoulders!! The media is awful like that...they started ignoring Afghanistan as soon as Bush decided to propose the war in Iraq so that they could leave their mess in Afghanistan and move on to their greedy pursuits while confusing the masses. I mean, they go through all this trouble to find Saddam (who was not an imminent threat) and still haven't found Osama?? I'm wondering why more people aren't questioning this like you!! Excellent question!

I can see what you are saying about the 'forgotten war'. In Britain where i live over the past couple of months media coverage of afghanistan has gone up while media coverage of iraq has gone down. the coverage of both countries are now about equal yet iraq still seems the more predominant as on a whole iraq is shown as more important in britian as more british forces are deployed there.

Afghanistan is old news. Nato has taken over control of the war in that country. The suicide bombing was covered on TV in my area, on several stations.
The main stream media cover what sells advertising. If they can blame something bad on President Bush, it goes on the first page of the news paper.

well... the Media is covering it... I've seen some reports... but the media, overall, focuses on what the Bush administration focuses on... have you noticed that? If the administration is talking about Iran... it's IRAN, IRAN, IRAN in the media... if they are talking about Iraq, it's all about Iraq... and same with Israel...
my question is, why is the administration not focusing on Afghanistan... and why does the media follow the administration's lead all the time...

You need to increase the number of your sources of information - there's plenty of coverage in certain quarters.
