if you were born blind you would use your other 4 senses to survive in this world without any problems. you would grow normally accustomed to not being able to see just as you would grow normally accustomed to not having an arm or a leg if you were born without it. you would never know what you were missing in your life to actually miss it. therefore you would never know anything was missing and you wouldnt know you were unable to see. you would purhaps if anything wonder what your eyes were in fact for if you touched your face, but you still could not understand or comprehend sight to think up the idea that you were missing your sight to see if you have never been told about it or taught about it or seen it for yourself. think this through people.....it would have to be explained to you first for you grasp the idea that you were born blind. and even then you would not understand what the person meant actually as a "seeing person" would. you would go on about life as if everything were perfectly normal for you, your whole life would revolve around smells, sounds, tastes, and touch.

No. If no one points out your differences and they're "subtle" enough that you think everyone else has them too (for blindness, if no one said "you're blind," therefore telling you that you're different than anyone else, how would you know? You wouldn't see other people reading regular books or without a seeing-dog or any other helping objects blind people need. Or if one was deaf, they may assume that other people read lips well.) If differences aren't presented, people would most probably assume everyone was like that.

if you were by yourself your whole life...than no...especially if you buy into john Locke's "tabula rosa" than you would never have any life experiences that would call on sight or deal with it. but, if one was around people who could see...then he would begin to wonder about the descriptions that everyone was talking about. unless you live in a completely blind society, it is impossible not to question the sensations of the world around which you can not see.

if no one told you ..sure...but I don't think that's realistic...I knew a girl that was blind from birth..we had a hard time explaining to her the colors..like green, gray, blue ,orange and so on..blind people live in a different world ..it's hard to explain but here's a good way to explain it to yourself...walk around all day with your eyes closed...and then you'll know what I'm talking about..

Yes because you would have to learn braile, etc and would be told that you were blind - but you would not know what you were missing the way you would if you lost sight after having it - you would not know what to see meant so even though you could not see you wouldn't know what that meant really until someone explained it to you - but you would know because you would need to learn the ways that blind people live and function -

If you were born without a brain....and nobody told you...would you know you were brainless??!!!
Maybe this is a case of the blind leading the blind??

Eventually of course you would. You'd learn what blindness meant somewhere down the road and relieze that's what you have.

in a controlled environment where visually descriptive words or anything that would give them a clue as to their impairment i would say no. your not going to miss something you've never known, your body will compensate by strengthening your other four senses.
