Well it could be a # of things!
#1 Endometriosis(hardening of the falopian tubes and eggs)
#2 irregular periods
#3 low sperm count (in males)
#4 age
#5 slowed sperm mobility in males caused by age
#6 infertility in male or female
#7 miss calculating when your ovulation takes place
#8 prostate problems (in males)
#9 weak sperm
#10 low progesterone or estrogen in females (not enough hormones in either sex)
low testostorone levels in males
If its only been 12 months, I would really give it some more time before you resort to hormone therapy or artaficial insemination.
some women try to become pregnant for 2,3,4,and even 5 years before conception takes place!! Give it more time. It will happen when it is meant to happen, on its own time..

Well, that all depends could be several things. One your trying to hard nervous & uptight. Relax and just enjoy each other while you can and things will happen in due time. Also has a lot to do if you were on birth control and how long for some it does take time to get out of your system. For me I was off the birth control pill for little over a year before becoming pregnant the first time; Then it also could do with low sperm levels in the man. So I would wait a little longer and see before shelling out money for test. If nothing happens say in the next 6 months then I would discuss it with my doctor and go from there.
