right now i have 512mb and is pretty slow and i want to make it faster do u think if i put another 512mb will be a good idead if my processor is 2.0ghz

Probably, if you're memory limited. Do you have any programs that can determine memory utilization?

It may make a little difference - but depends on what you're trying to do. You're graphic card will have a lot to do with speed also - especially if you're playing a game or trying to do video editing. I also have a 2.0 processor but in today's world - there's a lot faster out there. The speed you get will depend on your Chipset, your motherboard and your memory.

I also have 512 megs of ram on 3 computers and IF I had a faster processor, I'd probably up it. Again, I'm not a gamer. You may see a difference IF you got a decent video card and you are playing a more advanced game..... but then again, you'll wish you had a 3.0 processor - you can only go as fast as your processor.

It all depends on what you are using your computer for. Adding additional RAM will help in Gaming or graphics processing. If you just use your computer for internet surfing and e mail, then your 512 mb should be plenty.

Also, don't have any unnecessary programs running in the background or at start-up.
