When my husband got put on active duty, after 9/11, some random people that I didnt know bought a few Christmas presents for myself and my children. I had no way of knowing who the people were, they left it with a family member that attended the same church. I sent a thank you note, and to be honest, I hadn't thought about it until you asked the question. I believe this year, I will donate to a family in need. Thank you for making me stop and remember that there are still kind giving people out there!! Good question!

This such a great, positive question! People have down so many nice things for me over the years. But the thing that leapt into me mind happened 28 years ago. I had been left by my boyfriend, had two babies one less than a year and half and one only a few months who was in the hospital with very severe problems. I had no money, not even bus fare. I didn't even have an extra diaper for my baby. I had to go on welfare and the office was towns away. I got a ride there but I had no way back. I spent the whole terrible day there and by the end of the day I just started to cry because I didn't know what to do. A woman I didn't know came up to me and asked me what was wrong. I told her the whole sad story. She not only gave me a ride home, way out of her way, she slipped me a twenty too. I have never forgotten that day.
Like I said people have been kind to me very often over the years. I have learned to share whatever I have open heartedly and without expecting it to be returned.

When I've needed a "Jump" Start [Dead Car Battery] There has always been Someone that has Helped me Out, usually someone I've never met. And I have done the same for others, many more times, along with Tire Changes, and I've even Towed Vehicles with My Car, and only a Tow-Rope, which is Illegal In N.C. ! Always for Free! A Real, Genuine, Heartfelt "Thank You" Really does mean more than "The Almighty Dollar"! That's what "Pass it on" is really all about !

The nicest thing a stranger did for me is when I was trying to get something out of those machines with stuffed animals, she kept trying to get it, and help me out. She payed like $20 of her own money to help me on such a small thing. I don't think I can really pass it on specifically but I do try to be nice, and polite to everyone.

Stopped in the pouring rain, late one night and changed my flat tire. Would not let me pay them, I am a nurse and was in uniform, because one day they might need me to help them in a different way. And yes, I always try to pass it on. I think what if that was my Mother out there, would I want some one to stop and help her? I am very careful though, I always have my cell phone in my hand and never leave my car if I don't feel comfortable. I will ask if they need me to call someone and will even make the call if they need me to.

He came up to me and said "There is greatness within you, even if you cannot see it. Your time will come; have heart."

I passed it on, giving a person a lift to the gas station
