You do not just contact directors - you train, you go to class and learn how to act first (do you want to act or to be famous, figure out which) then do plays and films, then eventually get an agent who will submit you to directors and casting directors.

It's easiest if you live in an area where movie shooting or auditions often take place. Not necessarily Hollywood, but a major city. Also, learn how to network. Search online for groups that cater to people interested in acting - there's literally thousands out there. If you're in school (or live near a school) that has a drama department, get to know the people/professors there. Good luck!

You do not contact directors. You get an agent. You have to have a TON of experience to be taken seriously at auditions. It helps to have a degree as well.

Are you all so naive you really think that you get in touch with movie directors and such? Wake up, kid! You need to start in school plays, community theater, take acting classes and a host of other things to perfect your craft. You don't just dial up a movie director and tell him or her you want to be in a movie. You need to begin locally and then worry about it after that. Geesh!

If you want to act in indian tv serials (they will train you on language), go to www.baajaa.com and check out the ShowBiz section. India is booming economically and the largest tv productions companies are recruiting tv talent on www.baajaa.com . AND it is absolutely free. No hokey "portfolio fees"
good luck

Casting directors cast movies. Send your headshot and resume to them.
