Couldn't have said it better myself. What a wonderful night it was and what a priviledge to be able to watch it on TV. Only one thing could have been better and that was to the in the Royal Albert Hall or one of the other venues.

We need more events like this.

I too watched the Proms and felt the same pride in being British.....did you notice though the lack of different coloured faces at all venues....when the Carribean Carnivals are on or Dawalhi, Ramadam, Hindu, Sikh, Buddist etc festivities are televised you will always see a sea of mixed races....I just wish some of these people who have chosen Britain to be their home would learn how to intergrate and enjoy and support our culture and traditions as we enjoy and support theirs. Congratulations to the Conductor, Musicians, Singers and the audiences who made it a fabulous night to remember even if like me you cannot take an active role you feel the atmosphere in your living room and feel you are there.

Watched on TV, I always enjoy it, a good old patriotic sing along, I have a truly terrible singing voice, so, sorry but on this one night of the year the neighbours have to put up with a severe ear bashing, I am shattered now, tomorrow my throat will be sore, I had the whole family, grandchildren also, raising the roof, we don't get a lot to sing about these days, it does you a power of good !!!!!

Agreed! And for anyone who msised it and was only able to hear it on radio (come on, it's so much better to watch the crowd singing and waving the flags!) it is available for the next week to download on their website.

I could hear the Hyde Park fireworks from my house. tee hee!
