Gee, maybe because after that time it gets increasingly COLDER in the northern areas of the country! Also, the lifeguards are usually high school and college students and they go back to school at that time.

Usually, lifeguards are college students. Actually, ALL of them are around HERE! After Labor Day, the lifeguards have started class, and there's no one to watch over any kids who wanted to swim after school even if it WERE warm enough to do so. Out of practicality, it was best to just go ahead and close pools on Labor Day.

Because it's supposed to be the last day of Summer. Usually they open the pool for Memorial Day and close it at Labor Day. It just gives them a set date to open and close the pools.

Like what they said, it gets cold and no one wants to jump into a pool of freezing water.

Our school team swims in an indoor pool so we get to swim all year round. The water actually feels warmer in the winter (bet the school was trying to save money by turning off the heaters in fall and the water is so damn cold when you dive in).

Because usually school starts right after Labor Day and they don't want you skipping school to go to the pool!

If you are talking outdoor pools, probably most of the summer staff are students anyways, and the weather is getting cooler and mos to of the swimmers are students, so they dint want the distraction of swimming to be a good student.

This is when the public schools start.

No kids to swim and no life guards to guard. They both go back to school.

That reminds me, I live in Florida and have a pool in my backyard. Time for a swim...

Later!

It's best to get them closed before the leaves start falling. Also, it really does get a little cold up here.

Racism will by no potential thoroughly pass away. i'm area American Indian and get at a loss for words for many different races and all I would desire to assert is human beings suck. To make somebody sense undesirable by using colour of their epidermis is previous me.
