I've always used it to mean laugh out loud. I don't know anyone who uses it to mean anything other than that.

if you want it to be it is, however generally it means laughts out load, others use LMAO meaing laugh my (bottom) off
there is no such thing as Loyal Orange Lodge, as nothing loyal about it,
its not lands of lore,
nor legend of legaia
not love of life
not been used really as lots of love,
its simply lol
if you say it you will see what it means by the sound and the shape of your moth as you say it....
