a pump has a thicker heel and usually range from 2 inches to 4 1/2
as a stiletto heel is very thin usually starting from 3 1/2 inches to 6 inches. Pumps are good for everyday sexy, where stilettos give you that queen of the night I have the best legs in all the world every man is watching because Im so sexy look. They really arent appropiate for work but more than welcomed for clubbing and night life. Glade you asked because the wrong shoe can screw up any outfit

"Pump" has nothing to do with the heel. A pump is basically a closed toe slip-on style shoe with a heel. It can have a kitten heel (about 1" or less) a low heel, a high heel, a stiletto heel, a chunky heel, a sculpted heel, and so on.
"Stiletto" refers to the style of heel...usually over 3" and narrow. Also called "spike" heels because of their shape. You can have stiletto pumps, stiletto sandals, stiletto boots, and so on.

A pump is a standard heel, something 1-3 inches in height that you would wear with a suit or something. A stiletto is a very high, very thin heel that are difficult to walk or balance in.

A pump can be used to put air into a tire and a stiletto can be used to put a hole in a tire.

A pump is a demure chunkier 'street' heel, is functional and sensible, and elevates the foot for height anywear from about 2" or more. A stilletto is a spiked heel, more difficult to walk in, always quite high, totally nonfunctional or sensible, intended purely for leg enhancement and sexual attraction. Generally thought of as a 'come on' choice.

Height of the heel. Unless you are referring to a stiletto as a "Fu*ck-me pump." Then, nothing...
