not for fantasy... an outfielder. And I didn't ask if you consider it GOOD. Only if you think it is a "fair" season.

Even in the case of "big" names... it's not like we're talking .220 15 HRs and 42 RBI. Which is a BAD year.

Let's face it, even with A-Rod's "down" year this year, he still hitting preety well compared to the vast majority of the league.

I consider that to be a solid performance, yes. Spectacular, no, but solid.

If those are the season-ending stats for an outfielder who is a regular in the lineup, it appears to be a decent season.

But, there are always other factors:
Where does he bat in the lineup? For example, if he's a leadoff or number 2 hitter, has a great OBP, steals bases and scores a lot of runs, it's a very good season.

If these are the final stats for a regular OF who's a 3-4-5 hitter and doesn't bring much else to the table, they're kind of mediocre numbers for this era.

Yeah it is a decent season depending on who it is. Anybody like Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz, Andruw Jones, Alburt Pujols, and so on it would be a horrible season. If you a rookie or a breakout player, those are pretty good numbers. And if you are taling about barry bonds, no it is not a good year because he is getting paid too much money to have such a low average and low home run and rbi total.

HR - no longer user-friendly to tell, Cantu, Uggla, Hanley, or maybe Hermida (who has been hitting homers interior the spring) are all waiting to hit homers... i'm going to assert that Cantu will lead the group in homers RBI's - Hanley Ramirez... he's batting third with a guy like Bonifacio best off... base-runners for a competent hitter... sign him up standard - Bonifacio... 4-5 final nighttime with a homer

no i dont consider it to be a good season. if a player hits 25 home runs in a season, thats not bad, a lot of players will look to him as a leader. but if he's only batting .265 he isnt performing enough. that batter is going up there every at bat with one thing on his mind. home run. 75 rbi's is certainly not enough for a guy who has 25 home runs. i wouldn't want him coming up in a situation down by one with men on 1st and 3rd with no one out. its your job to move them over. by sacrificing him in from 3rd or even better get an base hit, score the man from 3rd and move the runner from 1st to third and end up on 1st and having the next guy up get the guy in from 3rd and move you in.

baseball is a sport when your consider successful if you fail 7 out of ten times and this guy is failing more than that. you cant go up there thinking home run everytime.

That wouldn't be a decent season these days. Players are doing that all the time. Players are more powerful and getting higher batting averages. A decent season would be a .280 batting avg., 30 HR, 80 RBIs.
However, players stats don't really matter, it is how the team does.

That would have been a good season in the 1970's. In today's baseball....it would be decent. Mike Cameron is a player with stats about that average. He is above average defensively, but is considered to be decent on office.

For a middle infielder, 3B or catcher it is a great season.
For a 1B men or a corner OF, it would be below average.
For a centerfielder, it would depend on the SB totals as well as the other numbers. Those numbers are very good for a CF if he was able to add 10+ SB's they could be considered exceptional.

depends what player....If the player just came off three 40 home run seasons and puts up those numbers then noo but if it's for any old person like a jay gibbons or something then yeah thats a decent season..

It's average, Adam LaRoche (1B - Atl) is hitting far better than that and he's considered only a decent player at best.
