In our jobs, where we live, and bad relationships, wasted time, for example. Say you knew the exact day of your death, would it make a difference?

It takes an effort to care and do something to right wrongs. Complacency is easier.
I think it would depend on whether death is imminent or far off. I think a lot of people would leave it to the last minute to change.

Because the reality of our own mortality has yet to fully sink in. I'm pushing 30, and really don't fully grasp that I will die at some point. Moreover, maybe some of us are just lazy/apathetic........I sure am. It's unfortunate, because I/we could do much, much more, and make a way better life for myself/ourselves and others. However, rather than put forth the effort to exact change and better things, I just sit around feeling depressed and hopeless and sorry for myself. I think the sooner I/we fully fathom that death approaches w/ every passing minute, the more likely I/we will be to change things for the better, by taking charge of life.

Its simple! Apostle Paul said, " If a man does not Work he should not eat."
(2Th 3:10) For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
(Gal 6:4) But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
God is offering you another life when this one runs out!
(Jhn 3:16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
NOTE: everlasting life! Forever! Never dieing! You know not going away.
And It’s Free!
Just Trust in Jesus his son and let him guide your life and he live in you and you in him and accept the Holy Spirit and You will have Life Eternal!
That’s is the easy part. The Heard part is staying out of trouble with Father Almighty God.
Just ask him to forgive you and do your best to sin no more...
(Psa 103:12) As far as the east is from the west, [so] far hath he removed our transgressions (sin) from us
Follow the Holy Spirit that God puts in you and follow the word of God in your Bible.
BUT CAUTION: Living Good/Right with God's will in Life Will Be The Hardest Thing You Will Ever Have To Do in life. We have an enemy and he does not want you or me or anyone for that matter to secede in becoming his judge. A Fallen angel. And A Child of God can judge him.
All you have to do is ask him and live in the light of hope Jesus The Christ of the family of Elohiem or God.

I think when we are children we all have big dreams... but the real world has a funny way of crushing our bits and pieces into little pieces, and forcing us to learn to take pleasure in the simpler things, like good friends, good food, good sex, etc.
If I knew the day of my death it would make a difference for a while. Kind of like having a near death experience or an intense dream will change your attitude for a little while, but rarely permanently.

I think your question is making a difference. For example, I believe we are complacent because we don't question or because we blame it on boredom. Carpi Diem.

Deep down we all know our limitations. Those who don't are the ones who soar above and beyond everyone else.
