you make as much milk as your body thinks your baby needs based on how much is taken at each feeding .so if you start trying to pump more than you need your body will start making more .kinda like supply and demand.Even if nothing comes out when you pump or very little does the suction on your nipples will stimulate them to produce more .I would suggest after your babys done feeding start pumping for like 10 min longer so the next time a feeding comes around ytou wont be dry.

The only way to produce more milk is for the baby to suck more. Make sure the baby empties one side then goes to the other. If the second side is not emptied and the baby falls asleep or stops nursing, at the next nursing let him/her finish up on that side then start on the full side. Also, you must drink lots of water, juice or milk. Stay away from caffeine.
