I remember watching the news..and a sudden and brief acknowledgment of the unbelievable. I remember standing in front of the TV set..seeing CNN people and Ch. 4 and Ch. 7... seeing the first video of the first plane.....and then the second fireball as the second plane slammed...I remember video of people on the streets of New York....straining to see what happened....people crying...my telephone ringing......someone saying that people were jumping from the towers....feeling breathless....smelling my coffee.....and eggs burning....people covered with white soot.....papers flying through the air.......a big implosion, a tower falling....people walking across a bridge...fire engines....another implosion, another tower falling.....screams....people running....breathless TV coverage....my telephone againn constantly ringing.........footage of hospitals with doctors,. nurses waiting....waiting...for survivors...wanting to help anyone, someone..but few would come... I remember seeing rescue efforts....strangers helping other strangers...I remember seeing Giuliani..wasn't interested in what he had to say...was too upset....about the victims...incinerated....then came the Pentagon...a massive strike..red red fire burning...people running still again...then another plane...an open field....burning,,,
I don't remember what I ate that day...or that night...or what the weather was outside...I don't remember what time I finally went to bed....It was all so sad...so horrible...so many people....innocents...gone.....
and I prayed...I prayed as I had never prayed before....

I was in 7th grade science class when it happened. At first I didn't know what was going on, until later, when my teachers had the news on, and we watched people covered in soot, screaming and running for their lives. When I got home, it really sank in. We were attacked, thousands were dead, and we would never be the same. Even though it's been five years, I still can't look at pictures of the World Trade Center burning. I just look away. I pray to God that I and any other American doesn't have to go through this again. God bless the innocent souls who died tragically and bravely, and the families of the ones we lost.

i was in the 8th grade and sitting in the hall outside of the class doing some homework. one of the janitors came running in and said 2 planes hit the WTC. i didnt know that the WTC was the real name of the twin towers, so i didnt think much of it. then i walked into the classroom where they had already found out. we went across the street to a hotel to watch all of the news coverage. i saw both of the towers fall on tv.

I was at work.
My shift began early, I can't remember if I started at 6 or 7am Pacific time. Anyway, I was in the lunchroom, eating some fruit and reading my book. Someone turned on the TV. Someone else joined them and they stood in front of it, with no sound.
When I looked up, there were about 6 people grouped around the TV. I went to look. Soon half the shift had left their desks to come watch. We saw the 2nd plane hit and one woman screamed.
I ran to the phone and called my sister and told her to turn on the TV fast, and hung up.
Shift managers came and asked everyone to go back to their desks. We did.

I remember hearing about it like 2 mins before it happened. I don't remember if i was at school or home. It is terrible what happened to all of those people. god bless them all. And the firefighters that are now battling cancer for trying to safe lifes. I remember watching it on the news. My uncle lived close by so i was worried about him. I am hoping they make 9/11 a day to remember all those young and old who lost their lifes.

I was in Japan (stationed there in the US Navy) and it was night time... Someone called my cell and told me to turn on the TV cuz the WTC was bombed. Went to my friends place and turned on the TV and saw the other plane hit. I called my dad and told him I was ok... Three weeks later my ship went to the Gulf of Oman and kicked some terrorist a$$. We stayed there for appx 80 days at sea. It was a life changing experience and I was proud to serve my country during that time!
