Eisenhower was also the allied Commander in WWII. So he is very aware of having to make difficult decisions. He knew the invasion was going to be heavy casualties. Which it was. God I could hear the liberals screaming like banshees (in German of course) if we had the same sissy mindset back then like we have today.
