I would believe that you had lived in that period in another life. I feel the same way about the civil war era.
I can nearly smell it sometimes. And I love the clothing styles!
I did a past life regression and found out that I had been
alive during that time.

Yup, I am like that too. Almost like that era calls to you. I think that maybe it is because in the fast paced world we live in today we need to find a few moments when things are more slow and elegant. I usually read a lot of novels on the Victorian times and previous generations. In any case you are not crazy...or maybe we both are but so what?

Yes, I have been obsessed with the 19th and early 20th centuries ever since I was a small child! I used to" Dumpster Dive" when I was a child and ammassed quite a large collection of victorian antiques, everyone thought I was an odd child.

Aren't they the ultimate dysfunctional family? Have you read "The Autobiography of Henry VIII" (it's fiction). Also Alison Weir has written a great book about the Tudors. I also really like to read and study about Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitane and their lively brood. "Lion in Winter" got me hooked on that. Not nuts, either...just obsessive.

I am fascinated, not obsessed, with the World War II era. I think it would have been fun to go fight the war. There has been no more real wars after that. That was the last real war where people fought for a real purpose.

I have been fascinated with the geisha lifestyle since reading the book and seeing the movie Memoirs of a Geisha. I wouldn't call it an obsession, but a deep appreciation.

I personally haven't been obsessed with an era but I do have an uncle who is stuck in the 70s. He continues to wear his wardrobe he purchased back then and he continues to do the drugs he did then. Sad but true...

I often imagine that I should have been around in the twenties- all boarding schools and country houses. A very brilliant era.
