Can some yahoo answers users please tell me how to prevent spiders from entering my finished bedroom in the basement.
*I live in Wisconsin
*I have a humidifier in my basement on MAX and always running
*Spiders of all kinds and sizes
*Not just daddy long legs
Please help!

I had a slew of spiders in my room, my closet, all over my clothes, and I ended up having to fumigate the house. I bought Raid Fumigator at Walmart, and it seems to have worked.
I don't know how you can keep them out, but that's how you can get rid of the ones you have...

The spiders are there because the food is there. Flies are their primary food. After you get the basement cleaned up, sweep away all spider webs. Fix all window screens and screen doors. Then hang up several flypaper strips. Buy them at the hardware store. Replace the strips with fresh ones every week. The strips will catch the flies and the spiders will move away or die. Hang one of the strips in the kitchen also, and one in the pantry. One month will be long enough. After that you can remove all flypaper hangers and there will be no next generation of spiders. Mayan

You're going to wind up with mold using a himidifier in the basement. Not sure what you can do about the spiders. They won't hurt you. Get a broom.

Do you have any cardboard around? Get rid of all of your cardboard!! (Will prevent roaches, too, although in Wisconsin that may not be a problem). Beyond that, get professional help. Call the Orkin man.

try using a defrogger from home depot, then make sure all the cracks and everything are closed, so that they dont return. make sure the defogger says it's for bugs and spiders. just ask a sales associate from home depot and they should be abl;e to find you an effective one

spiders are such nice creatures ... they need love ... and they want friends thats why they have chosen to come and live with you ... chill with them ... you know smoke a bowl with them and live in harmony ...
