well I would say the possibly fatal disease, but not because I'm superficial. I was born with a rare congenital heart condition and my whole life I have lived not knowing how many more days, years...I might have left. A facial deformity is tragic and has nothing to do with being shallow or superficial, If you want a real answer ask about breast size or weight, something that compares.

I have to live with what I have or whatever happens to me. If I was born with a facial deformity there might be a chance that over the years plastic surgeons can fix it or at least make it better. The elephant man's disease is in the skull and bones structure, That can't be fixed. People have it today and are being treated much better from society than that man was. I hope people wouldn't stare or call me names but some probably will. That they will have to live with. I was born with a reddish-plum color rash on my right temple. Was the size of a quarter. It grew as I grew. By middle school it covered half my forehead, my temples and down in front of my ear. I won't let my mom cut hy hair because I wore it down to cover that side as much as possible. The kids is school got use to it and didn't bother me about it. But if a new kids came into the school or I was at a park they would point and laugh. My parents helped me with my self confidence. When I was 22 I saw a plastic surgeon about it. It was removable with many laser treatments but it might end up with a scar. I took the chance and had it removed. Within 2 years the entire spot is gone. I have a narrow 1 inch scar near my hairline. So now my entire face is equal. I have to stay our of the sun or constany put sunblock on. But that's fine. I could live with it because I didn't have to look at it all day and grown ups were fine. It's the kids that make fun of people that look different. At my 10 year reunion many of the guys apologized. All is forgiven.

I would choose Fatal disease, mainly to get away with a stuff.
I don't mean to sound shallow, but just knowing how society is, you wouldn't get anywhere or have much fun in life with a facial deformity. Most poeple are fake and just act nice to deformed people and others are just straight assholes. You probably wouldn't get to enjoy the pleasure of sex whilist deformed because no one would touch you and society is very cruel and cold hearted towards people who look different. and everyone is all about beauty anyways. Life and school would be hell and growing up would be even worse.

I couldn't live with a fatal disease. Constantly going to hospitals for appointments, and possibly being admitted for weeks at a time. It wouldn't be much of a life. I would choose the facial deformity. Of course I would have to deal with judgmental people but hey at least I'll have my health.

Fatal disease...then I could go do the things I want and have an excuse--"I have to store up on memories before I die!"
Nobody would protest, and I might not die anyway!

No one wants fatality and consequential death. Many people live without one or the other body parts. If choice is to loose a body part or its symmetry to death, buddy, then it will be loosing symmetry.
