The real mystery is that people still think there is something mysterious out there.
I've been out to sea in the Bermuda Triangle lots and lots of times (working on oceanographic ships that study the animals onthe bottom of the ocean) and nothing whatsoever mysterious has ever happened on any of our trips.
Some bad stuff has happened to other people there sometimes, like ships disappearing, but guess what? That happens all over the ocean. The ocean can be a very dangerous place, and sometimes it kills people. But there isn't anything mystical about it. It is storms, tornados, big waves, fires on board a ship, pirates, and all the accidents that can happen at sea.
There are no gravitational anomalies, there are no compass anomalies other than the usual variations that happen all over the world, nor any other kind of unusual physical events. Planes routinely fly over this area many times each day without any problems (when was the last time you heard of a commercial airline flying to Bermuda or the Bahamas crashing?) And it is one of the most heavily travelled sea lanes for small craft. Oceanographic vessels from several universities have mapped this area in extreme detail during hundreds of trips -- the bottom of the ocean there has no giant volcanos, weird shapes or ancient ruins or any evidence whatsoever that anything unusual has ever happened. Because of the way some important ocean currents bump into each other there, they do have some typically awful weather and rough seas. Take your seasick pills!

The Bermuda Triangle is roughly the area where the island of Atlantis used to be. This was a country that existed hundreds, if not thousands of years ago and they were a matriarchy - ruled by women !
Anyhow, there was an inactive volcano in Atlantis and one day it erupted and the entire island sank into the sea. Since then there has been a gravitational anomaly in that area, which is why planes go down when crossing the area known as the Bermuda Triangle.

The mystery is that not all events that occurred within the triangle have been adequately explained.

Includes the sargasso sea. Planes and boats which enter get lost there more than other places in the world. Also rumors of Ghost ships.
