Unfortunately I think that many people have had a tough time growing up so it probably would be rather dull to many people. Still do it though - could be cathartic but remember the old adage -
laugh and the world laughs with you
weep and you weep alone
for the sad old earth must borrow its mirth
but has trouble enough of its own

More and more people write books about their lives when they think they have lived something that could interest people, such as hard times, or a special event. This is sometimes a catharsis for the person who writes. It can be a testimony, for instance. And those who read it are usually those who feel they can relate to this story, or who have lot of empathy towards people who have been through tough moments. So in such cases, some people may find interesting to read about non-famous people. So I do not reckon that the world would only read about celebrities : as a matter of fact, this kind of voyeurism concern everyone. You can confirm this assertion just by noticing the number of TV shows with people testifying and telling about their lives.
To answer your question, I would read it if I think it can be interesting for me, if it gives life lessons, motivation, to the reader.

It depends how it is written. I'm more likely to read fiction that uses issues from someone's life than a memoir, because as others have said, everyone has his or her issues. The point, if you want to sell it, has to be to make it relevant to others, and then do at least three drafts: the first for you, the second for your editor, and the third for your readers.
There are very few celebrities I would even stop to read a headline about much less a whole book.

Yes, non-famous people are just as, if not more interesting than famous people. A lot of people love to read, and the books that people read are not usually about celebrities.

ye,i find it really interesting. i`m in the same boat as you and thought about that too a while ago, if you do write a book, people will be interested and buy it,your life will be more colourful than most of the celebrities, they know nothing about real life and troubles but folk still want to read boring books about them!! go for it,you won`t know if you don`t try,and if you do,send me a copy. good luck,if you are determined, don`t let anyone stop you!!!!! xx

Depends on the out come. If you are progressing out of the tough time and triumphing over adversity then it could be a good read, could be encouraging to others going through tough times. Celeb triumph stories can leave a bitter taste as they have the "advantage" of wealth and status to ease their pain but a real story can help others.

I do not believe the world has gone celebrity mad, on the contrary, I think there are too many ways that normal people can express themselves, and that makes it hard to choose...nowadays everybody can write, since there is no standard any more, so I'm afraid I would not know which one of the non famous people who are writing their story you are. Sorry

I've read a few (auto-)biographies of non-famous people. Most notably and very highly recommendable is Autobiography of a Geisha by Sayo Masuda, a truly heart-rending tale of hardship and an astoundingly awesome, life-affirming story of personal redemption.
Edit: and 'well written' is unimportant when you have a fascinating story like that to tell as Masuda-Sama was/is illiterate.

I have read a lot of creative nonfiction while in the process of working on my own stories. If the story is presented in a compelling way, I would definitely read it. I'm sick to death of famous people, but maybe I'm a minority.

It depends on how you expose it, if is and interesting way and i think i can learn something from your book i will read it.
You could write it as a novel, not saying is your biography because that would not call the attention so much. Good luck
