I ordered something from Amazon and when I checked the tracking info on the United States Post Office site it states it was delivered. It was not. My local post office loses so much mail (frequently delivering the wrong mail to me so I know someone else's mail is lost)! What's my recourse when the Post Office states it dropped off a package and I never got it? It wasn't mailed from Amazon requiring mail delivery certification, so am I screwed, scammed and out of luck?

Call Amazon and ask for directions. They have the first right and the greater clout, when it comes to complaining, since they paid the actual postage. Unless a package can be left in a secure location the Letter Carrier is not supposed to leave it.

Then make the post office run a trace on it.
