I have my computer on about 16 hours a day and am wondering if I'm using a lot of power.
Does it use less power to boil water in the microwave or on the stove in a kettle?

Is that in ascending or descending order? i.e. TV least and fridge most?

The microwave uses a lot of electricity per minute, but it's only on for a few minutes a day. But water boiled in a microwave makes horrid-tasting tea and coffee - use the stove ot a HotShot for that!

Refrigerator is a biggy. Not much you can do about it except not hold the door open longer than you need to.

Turn the TV off when you're not watching it - it still takes some juice, but lots less than having it blather on in the background all the time.

We were told to leave the computer on 24/7 unless there's an electrical storm or we're leaving home for more than a day, as it's easier on the computer. We have the monitor set to go blank after a few minutes of non-use.

A microwave used more electricity than a stove - but that's all that I know. I'm not sure about the others. Sorry.
