my friend had to be put on bed rest due to this. They made her keep her feet elevated most of the day. You will probably be on bed rest before your pregnancy ends.

There aren't many good solutions.

First of all, have your OB keep a close watch for signs of preeclampsia. And you should know all the symptoms, too, just in case.

Second, drink a lot of water. Sounds counter-intuitive, but it does help some people.

Third, take it easy and put your feet up when you can. Elevation keeps the swelling down. You could also try support hose, but I think they're like sausage casings and I'd almost rather deal with the swelling!

Fourth, go swimming whenever you can. Or if you're lucky enough to have a deep bathtub, try that. The pressure on your body from the water can help keep the swelling under control.

Please-watch your salt intake, put your feet up as often as you can during the day, try to keep off your feet. A massage would feel good and help-also-be sure you are drinking at least 8-10 8 oz. glasses of water each day. Also, consider soaking your feet in Epson salts. If you have any rings on your hands-please remove your rings- (if you still can) or they will have to be cut off. And please talk with your doctor in regards to this matter as well. Take care.

Your doctor should be checking that on every visit. You need to stay off your feet and put them up above your heart to get the swelling down. How about your face and hands are they swollen?

When I was pregnant I was told to limit the amount of salt intake and elevate your feet as much as possible. You should see your doctor and let him/her advise you just in case it is a more serious problem. Better safe than sorry! Good luck and well wishes.

Lay down and elevate your feet, while you call the doctor. You should have your blood pressure and urine checked. It might just be a case of Odema or it couldbe the early signs of pre eclampsia. I would get it checked out just to be on the safe side. DON'T PANIC, STAY CALM
