Who liked Green Lantern Hal Jordan while he was the Spectre?

I thought he was cool But was not there already a Spectre in the Dc Universe? So how could there be two of them at once?

Jim Corrigan, the Spectre's last human host, was allowed to go to his final rest, so Hal Jordan replaced him.
Otherwise, without a human host to counterbalance the great powers he possesses, the Spectre goes nuts; as seen in the Day of Vengenace and Infinite Crisis mini-series.
Jordan as the Spectre was okay, but Hal deserved much better treatment than going nuts as Parallax back during the Reign of the Supermen and Emerald Twilight storlines.
If DC really wanted a new Green Lantern (Kyle Rainer) on the job, Hal should have been allowed to honorably retire, or whatever the Guardians of the Universe version of this is.

Hal Jordan became the Spectre when Jim Corrigan earned his place in heaven. Hal was hand picked by the heroes of the DCU because of his integrity and fearlesness. He was realeased from the Spectre force upon being reunited with his own body, setting the stage for the events of infinite crisis
