seriously...

i know a lot of people who are religious fanatics when it comes to the teachings of the bible.

but, if beings from other worlds and galaxies started arriving on earth, do you think this would change the way people view the bible and god?

i personally think that it would greatly affect it.

especially since it might be argued that their race has been in existance LONGER than ours, they'd definitely be more technological superior to us.

perhaps it would show that GOD is much bigger than we had always thought he was initially, a bigger picture for a bigger plan.

and, just for the record, i'm NOT saying that god or jesus are aliens, okay? i know there will be those that will jump onto that band-wagon when a question like this is asked.

I'm sure someone would find the spot in revelations that mentions an alien arrival (after the fact, of course)

Many more moderate christians would probably get excited mostly because, hell, some aliens just landed! I don't think the majority of christians out there deny the possibility of other intelligent life.

However, there would be a few extremists who would deny the possiblity of extraterrestrial intelligence. They would probably claim that the aliens didn't exist for as long as possible, and then when they actually came in contact with one, they'd probably say it was some kind of government trick, or a robot made to look like an alien, or even a demon from Hell- all three being positions that would only be strengthened by the alien's denial of any of them being true. However, this way of thinking would probably peter out over the next generation or two, as children were raised in a world where aliens literally walked among us.

I don't see how it could change anything what we know.

The bible it applies to us. Earth , So if God created other people on other planets I'm sure he has a guide that he has laid down for them.

So just because other people exist that we aren't privy too, really means nothing as far as the Bible goes there is alot of information God hasn't shared with us, haven't YOU EVER ASKED GOD WHY?

And who is to say these other people don't have a mirrored existence and they have a Bible of there own I mean he is GOD if he can create the most detailed world he can do anything.

If an unmovable object is struck by an irresistible force what happens. This is the type of question you are asking.

I cannot see how a race being in existence longer then ours proves anything.

The bible is more then a book it is a system of beliefs and a great compendium of tradition and history.

I think if Aliens came here I would never have a doubt that god doesn't exist.

relies upon on the religion and the ideals held via its adherents. i think of maximum mainstream religions settle for the opportunity of existence on different planets in recent times. in case you watch the loopy dudes on historic past channel, extraterrestrial beings ARE what our ancestors have been speaking approximately whilst they have been describing their gods. So it relatively is extremely going to rely on the religious teachings (Demons! extra of God's little ones! extra gods! substitute foodstuff source! - %. one.) than something, extremely. I, for one, will welcome our new reptilian overlords. won't have the ability to be any worse than what we've working the prepare now. to boot, snake meat is tasty.

but then one could argue these aliens were a failed predesasors to ourselves, thus' we need to pay more attention to our religions, because we wouldn't want to be a failed people, it would mean god is imperfect(which I think he is), or it could prove that they are the god we know, or it could prove that they were created by another god, or it could prove a host of other things.
