My wife took a pregnacy test two days ago and it came up positive twice. I really want a little girl (I already have a four year old son) but my wife cant get an appointment with the OB/GYN untill Wednesday. I want you to tell me have you ever known someone whos test has said positive but they turned out not to be pregnant. It will worry me if you say yes but I did come to you to hear the truth!!

I haven't. When mine were positive I was pregnant. a pregnancy test detects the HCG hormone, which is only present in pregnant women. Now its possible for it to be positive and then to miscarry. or to have a positive after a miscarriage as the HCG stays in your system for a little while. I'd say your gonna be a dada again. Anything is possible. The test could have a defect. If she hasn't had a period and took the test and it was positive then she is 100% pregnant. I am a medical assistant and I work in a OB/GYN office. Don't be worried!! She'll be fine

Yes, this can happen. However, you did say your wife took the pregnancy test twice. What are the chances of a mis-read two times? I hope all works out well for the two of you.

not that i heard of, if your uncertain consult a doctor and if you dont get a girl this time and your willing to attempt again keep this advice in mind,
the female egg has a X sex cell the sperm varies from bering a X or a Y sex cell females are XX and males are XY, the two sperm are diversed by the fact that Y sperm swim faster then the X sperm but die faster, so perhaps you should try a few days BEFORE the period occurs. regardless i'll hope you get a girl if you hope that i got a B or above on my human anatomy test! lol just kiddn glad i could help.

Unlikely but possible. Certain things may trigger a false positive - if she was on the birth control pill or other birth control that is injected and happened to conceive on it. Doubtful though. Congratulations and good luck at the Dr.

No I have never seen/heard of a false positive just a false negative....good luck!!! Hope its a girl

IF 2 TESTS SAY POSITIVE, SHE IS PREGNANT!! CONGRATS!! AS FOR THE SEX OF THE BABY, THEY CAN USUALLY TELL BETWEEN 16 AND 21 WEEKS! GOOD LUCK.

Prenancy tests are more likely to false-negative then false-positive. I.e. they sometimes miss pregnancies but it is very rare for them to say that you are pregnant when you're not.
