It seems impossible. I see many cemeteries crowded with tombstones and yet at least every week someone is being buried. Do they remove older graves or bury on top of them?

Cemeteries constantly run out of space. They do not remove older graves, or bury on top of them. When they run out of space, they don't accept more burials. That's why there are a ton of cemeteries.

No, a grave is considered sacred and they do not bury a stranger on top of you or dig anyone up to make more room. (At least in the USA) Once the cemetery is full, they no longer accept burials there.

eventually they do run out of space....then they have to have another piece of land, which is blessed and whatever they do before any burials.

Some graves have spaces for 3/4/5/6 members of the same family so by the time two parents have died, then a few children well that can take about 100yrs

Actually, they eventually do run out of space, but it takes a long time.

Arlington Cemetary is now only burying soldiers who were killed in the line of duty and they are no longer burying family members there.

They dig up graves and bury people two deep when they run out of space. My mother had this done so that her parents and my father (and her, when she dies) can all be buried together.

In Italy their cemeteries are like giant pigeon holes which get bricked up. With marble slab inscriptions and photos.

They probably do all of the above. Some really old bodies detriorate so badly until they trun to dust, so they really literally bury over them.
