there the same, just different disc format, and you can use either if your drive utilizes both those formats, but I would check my drive manual to make sure which format works with that drive, general most drives use both and dvd-RW/+RW

I agee with your first two replies. To be sure, click on 'My Computer', then right-click on the icon for 'DVD-CD RW DRIVE'. This will give you a list. Click on the last one, which is 'Properties'. In 'properties', just click on the tab at the top that says 'hardware' and it should show you exactly what type of drive you have installed. EG mine's a Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-R 2312.

Then you can either check with your local computer shop and ask them what sort of rewriteable DVD's it can take, or you can email the company that makes it. They usually have a help and advice service. I'd try your computer shop first. They can probably give you an answer on the phone.

So: click 'My Computer' > right-click 'DVD' > click 'Properties' > click 'Hardware'.

Good luck and I hope this helps you:)
